Lizzie Holmes is enchanting, her broad infectious smile and creamy soprano making the final revelation all the more shocking... One of the most compelling and poignant ends to a Bohème I have witnessed.
Holmes makes a fabulous Poppea: playful, but brimming with erotic power. In a magnetic performance, Holmes explored Poppea’s fears and hopes with charismatic flair
A very effective piece, if disturbing, and made more enjoyable by Lizzie Holmes’ performance as the priggish heroine Ida.
Sensitively portrayed & well-focused.
Her Poppea was Lizzie Holmes, from whom we will surely be hearing a great deal more in future – this is a highly intelligent singing actress (she also has an English degree and has won ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the National Student Drama Festival) with a warm, fluent soprano and a beguiling stage presence.

Performer and Guest Feedback

Debut Treehouse has been such an amazing professional forum for trying out repertoire to an enthusiastic and interested audience. I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with other artists, such as through works with other instruments and piano, as often finding opportunities to perform these works is very rare and difficult.

It’s so thrilling to bring classical music to an audience who wouldn’t normally attend traditional concerts or shows and get them excited about it and to be able to share a glass of wine and tell them what they should see next!
— Performer Feedback: Katie Coventry, mezzo soprano (ENO Harewood Artist)
A refreshing atmosphere of high quality classical music in a casual, intimate, approachable atmosphere.

You never get to see Classical musicians up this close. It’s a very unique experience!

It’s such a valuable environment; being able to access the curiosity of the child within in an intimate, cosy space that intensifies the experience of witnessing live classical music.
— Sky Ingram, Soprano
This was a magical, magical experience! The theme was “Powerful Women, Powerful Voice” and gosh did those ladies bring the house down. I’ve never been so close to a performer that I could actually hear them breathing and see their facial expressions so clearly. It was a powerful, moving experience.

It’s hard to convey just how magical the Debut Treehouse Secret Concert experience is. Ross & Lizzie welcome you as though you’re guests at a very cool party which happens to be full of incredibly talented musicians & guests from all over the world. The atmosphere is intimate, warm, friendly & fun. We reclined on a big sofa piled with cushions & enjoyed the fantastic music & candle-lit ambience. Chatting to the musicians was a highlight & the Treehouse itself is an amazing location in the heart of Shoreditch. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday night. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough - we’ll be back!
